Terms of Service

KahaniKids.ai’s mission is to nurture creativity and learning through personalized storytelling experiences. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our digital platforms, including our apps and websites (collectively, the “Platform”), and all related services (collectively, the “Services”) provided by KahaniKids.ai. By accessing or using the Platform and Services, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Safety and Moderation Policy, User Content Policy, and End User License Agreement — together with the AI-generated content, subscription, copyright, and general disclaimer terms set out later in this document.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Platform and Services, you confirm your acceptance of these Terms and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Platform and Services.

These Terms form a binding legal agreement between you and KahaniKids.ai. If you are using the Platform on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind the organization to these Terms.

2. Services Description

KahaniKids.ai offers a digital storytelling platform that integrates artificial intelligence to deliver personalized content based on a child’s interests and developmental stage. Features include AI-powered story generation, automated and human content moderation, AI-generated images and background music, and AI-assisted translation. Section 7 explains how our AI works and what it does and does not guarantee.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use the Platform and Services. If you are under 18, your parent or guardian must create an account on your behalf and agree to these Terms.

By using the Platform and Services, you represent that you have the legal right and capacity to enter into these Terms in your jurisdiction.

4. Account Creation and Parental Control

KahaniKids.ai requires parents and guardians to create an account before a child accesses the Platform. This lets a Parent:

  • Customize the learning journey by providing consent for minimal data collection aimed at tailoring content to their child’s interests.
  • Monitor and manage app usage through available reporting features, to support healthy digital habits.
  • Exercise control by editing, customizing, or deleting their child’s profile.

By creating an account, you agree to keep your credentials confidential, be responsible for activity under your account, and provide accurate information. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or compromise the safety or security of the Platform.

5. User Content

The Platform allows Parents to share their child’s stories within our in-app community (“Kahani Club”) and, if they choose, on social media. Ownership, licensing, and moderation of content you or your child submit or share (“User Content”) is governed by our User Content Policy, which forms part of these Terms by reference. We may review, moderate, or remove User Content that violates these Terms, infringes third-party rights, or is inappropriate for the Platform.

6. User Conduct

You agree to use the Platform lawfully, non-commercially, and respectfully of other users. You will not:

  • use the Platform for any illegal or unauthorized purpose, or violate any applicable law, regulation, or guideline;
  • infringe the intellectual property rights of others;
  • transmit or share content that is harmful, offensive, or abusive, or that violates our content guidelines;
  • disrupt or interfere with the Platform, Services, or their servers, including through unauthorized access attempts or malicious software.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these conduct guidelines.

7. AI-Generated Content

KahaniKids.ai uses artificial intelligence to power the storytelling experience. This section explains how, and what that means for you and your child.

7.1 How AI Is Used

  • Story text is generated using a large-language-model provider (such as an OpenAI model), based on the genre, theme, and other parameters selected by a Parent or child.
  • Illustrations are generated using an AI image tool (such as Leonardo AI), based on the story.
  • Translation is provided using an AI translation tool (such as Bhashini), where a story is requested in a different language.
  • Narration may be generated using a text-to-speech provider.

Every AI request is made from our backend — never directly from the app — and is minimized to avoid sending unnecessary personal information to these providers. See our Privacy Policy for details on what we send and to whom.

7.2 What AI Can and Cannot Guarantee

AI-generated content is produced from patterns in training data, not independently written or fact-checked by a person for each output. As a result, content may not always be perfectly accurate, may reflect limitations or occasional biases in the underlying models, and translations may not always be exact. Content passes automated safety checks before being shown to a child, and flagged content and reusable assets receive human review, as described in our Safety and Moderation Policy — but, as that Policy explains, not every individual story is reviewed by a person before a child sees it.

7.3 Our Responsibility, and Yours

We are responsible for providing bounded, moderated AI generation: content limited to age-appropriate parameters, automated safety checks before display, and a reporting and takedown process. We do not disclaim responsibility for the safety of content our systems generate and display to children.

Because AI output can vary, we ask Parents to use their judgment about content their child engages with, and to report anything that seems inappropriate or inaccurate to support@kahanikids.ai so we can review and act on it.

8. Subscriptions, Cancellation, and Refunds

8.1 Managing Your Subscription

If you purchased a subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, it is managed there — including cancellation, renewal, and payment method updates. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled before the renewal date.

iOS: Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions > KahaniKids.ai > Cancel Subscription.

Android: Google Play Store > profile icon > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > KahaniKids.ai > Cancel subscription.

Cancelling stops future renewals; your subscription and access to premium content remain active until the end of the current billing period. We do not issue refunds for the unused portion of a current billing period, except where required by law.

8.2 Refunds

Refunds for purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store are handled directly by Apple or Google under their own refund policies, not by us. Request one through Apple’s or Google’s own support channels. 8.3 After Cancellation

Once your billing period ends, access to premium content and features is revoked, and your account may move to any free tier we offer at that time. You can resubscribe at any time, at the then-current price.

9. Intellectual Property and Copyright

9.1 Our Content

All intellectual property rights in the Platform, Services, and KahaniKids.ai-provided content — including text, graphics, interfaces, logos, and software — are owned by or licensed to us. You may use the Platform only for your personal, non-commercial use, and may not reproduce, distribute, modify, publicly display, or otherwise exploit our content without our express written consent. You also may not use automated tools (such as bots or scrapers) to extract content from the Platform.

9.2 Third-Party Content

Some content on the Platform may be provided by third parties. All rights to such content remain with its original owners; we do not claim ownership of it and provide it only for your benefit as a user of the Platform.

9.3 Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you believe content on the Platform infringes your copyright, contact us at support@kahanikids.ai with a description of the work, its location on the Platform, and your contact details. See our User Content Policy for our full infringement reporting and takedown procedure.

10. Privacy

Your privacy matters to us. What we collect, how we use AI, who we share information with, and our use of cookies and analytics — for both the Platform and website — are described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Platform and Services, you consent to the practices described there.

11. General Disclaimer

Information on the Platform is provided for general purposes and is not professional (legal, financial, medical, or educational) advice — consult a qualified professional for guidance specific to your situation.

The Platform and Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or meet your specific needs.

The Platform may link to or integrate with third-party websites or services, such as translation or narration providers, which are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We do not endorse or control third-party content and are not responsible for it.

Where the Platform includes content contributed by other users (for example, stories shared within Kahani Club), we are not responsible for its accuracy, and it does not reflect our views — see our User Content Policy.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, KahaniKids.ai shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or use, arising out of or in connection with your access to or use of the Platform and Services.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to the Platform and Services is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, for access to the Platform and Services in the two (2) months preceding the claim.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of a third party’s rights through your own User Content — this does not extend to content our systems generate and display to you.

13. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Platform and Services at any time, without prior notice, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms or engage in conduct we determine is harmful to the Platform, Services, or other users.

Upon termination, your right to use the Platform and Services ceases immediately. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at support@kahanikids.ai. Termination does not relieve you of obligations that arose before the termination date.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms, and all policies incorporated by reference, are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore, without regard to its conflict of laws principles, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

For users accessing our Services from other jurisdictions, KahaniKids.ai complies with local laws to the extent they apply. By using the Platform and Services, you agree that any disputes will be resolved in accordance with the laws of Singapore, and that any such disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

These policies are incorporated into these Terms by reference:

  • Privacy Policy. How we collect, use, and share information, including our use of AI sub-processors, and our cookie and analytics practices.
  • Safety and Moderation Policy. How content is generated, moderated, and reviewed, and the safeguards in place for children.
  • User Content Policy. Ownership and licensing of content you or your child create or share, and how to report infringement.
  • End User License Agreement. The license terms for downloading and using our mobile app.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time by posting the revised version on our website. Changes are effective immediately upon posting. We encourage you to review these Terms regularly; your continued use of the Platform and Services after a change signifies your acceptance of the updated Terms.
